The last of Canada’s COVID-19 travel restrictions, including the requirement to use the ArriveCan app and wear a mask on trains and airplanes, will be lifted as of October 1 for all travelers entering the country.
The statement was made this morning during a press conference by Jean-Yves Duclos, minister of health.
In addition, there will be no pre- or on-arrival testing requirements, no quarantines for COVID-19 upon arrival, no health screenings for air or rail travel, and no symptom reporting or monitoring requirements.
According to CTV: “Officials said that while Canada is lifting the mask mandate, travellers are still ‘strongly recommended’ to wear high-quality and well-fitting masks and make ‘informed decisions’ when travelling.”
