Brockhampton have announced an indefinite hiatus, stating that Coachella 2022 will be their final performance

Brockhampton announced today that they are going on an indefinite hiatus. All of the 2022 global tour dates scheduled last year have been canceled. Brockhampton only have three more live shows left: the O2 Academy Brixton in London on February 7 and both weekends of Coachella 2022, according to the band’s representative. “They invite their fans to come celebrate the end of an era with them at these final performances,” the statement continues.

Brockhampton was formed when group leader Kevin Abstract asked on the KanyeToThe forum if anyone wanted to form a band. The band was once known as Alive Since Forever before changing their name to Brockhampton. Ameer Vann, Joba, Matt Champion, Meryln Wood, Dom McLennon, and Bearface are among the numerous members of the collective, as are producers Romil Hemnani, Jabari Manwa, and Kiko Merley.

Brockhampton appeared in the Viceland series American Boyband and released the three-album Saturation series in 2017, when the group relocated to Los Angeles. “Gummy,” a song by Saturation II, was chosen one of Pitchfork’s “100 Best Songs of 2017.”

Vann was pulled from the group shortly after signing with RCA in 2018, following claims of sexual misconduct. Following a melancholy performance at Boston Calling, Brockhampton postponed a tour to “regroup,” and one month later, they made their public return on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It was their first appearance on late-night television.

Later that year, Brockhampton released Iridescence, their first and only No. 1 album on the Billboard albums list. Abstract released Ginger in 2019, few months after Jack Antonoff’s solo album Arizona Baby was released. Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine, Brockhampton’s most recent album, was released in 2021. Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Charlie Wilson, and Jpegmafia all contributed to the album.
