Borussia Dortmund thrashed Freiburg, and Sebastien Haller scored his first goal following his recovery from testicular cancer.

The third goal was scored by the former West Ham striker, who made his comeback three weeks ago, with a 51st-minute header in front of the Westfalenstadion’s “Yellow Wall.”

Days after joining Dortmund as Erling Haaland’s replacement, Haller had a diagnosis that required two operations.

The 28-year-old underwent surgery in November after undergoing four rounds of chemotherapy.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment since day one. When I scored the goal, it felt like the whole stadium was on fire,” Haller told Sky Sports.

“I am happy, but the way is still long, so we will keep walking and hope for more goals.”

On January 22, Haller returned to the field in a 4-3 home league victory against Augsburg. A week later, he started for Dortmund against Bayer Leverkusen.
