Blue Ivy bids over $80K on diamond earrings at auction

The weekend’s luxury auction featured Blue Ivy, the 10-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who placed high bids to support the event’s organizer Tina Knowles.

Blue Ivy spent nearly $80,000 on a set of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings that her grandmother had worn to the 2022 Wearable Art Gala on Saturday in Los Angeles. In a viral video, Keke Palmer, Tina Knowles, and Quinta Brunson can be seen responding to Blue confidently waving her auction paddle.

Eventually, the owner of Mielle Organics, Monique Rodriguez, outbid Blue Ivy with a bid of $105,000 for the earrings.

It’s not the first time, according to Vanity Fair, that Blue Ivy has competed in a high-end auction. The 6-year-old fought Tyler Perry back in 2018 over an acrylic painting of a young Sidney Poitier. Blue increased her bid for the piece from $17,000 to $19,000 before losing to Perry, who won it for $20,000 after Blue’s first $17,000 price.

Later on in the evening, Blue won a $10,000 auction for a 36″ x 36″ work of art built from torn-apart legal and medical books.
