Barcelona was knocked out of the Champions League and will now compete in the Europa League after losing 3-0 to Bayern Munich in the last match of Group E on Wednesday.
The game started slowly, but Bayern took the lead in the 34th minute when Thomas Muller scored his 50th goal in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
In the 43rd minute, Leroy Sane made it 2-0 for Bayern Munich.
Bayern continued to press in the second half, with Jamal Musiala scoring the third goal for the Bavarians in the 32nd minute, bringing the game to a 3-0 conclusion.
Bayern Munich won all of its games in Group E, finishing the group stage with a total of 18 points.
Barcelona came in third place in the group with seven points.
Barcelona last competed in the Europa League in 2004, under Frank Rijkaard’s coaching.
