Arsenal defender Pablo Marí in hospital after Milan supermarket stabbing

 

 

According to reports, Pablo Mari was hospitalized after being stabbed in a Milan shopping centre.

 

He was one of five persons stabbed, according to Rai news, by a 46-year-old guy.

Three of the five people who were stabbed are reportedly in critical condition.

 

At 17:30 UK time, the incident took place in the Carrefour supermarket at the Milanofiori di Assago shopping center (18:30 local time).

According to reports, the assailant began randomly stabbing customers in the store after taking a knife from the shelf.

Witnesses boldly stepped in to stop the attacker, who was later detained and apprehended by the police.

 

An eye-witness told La Repubblica: “We were at the bar and we thought it was a robbery because we saw some boys and a lady running, then we saw more and more people with upset faces and we realised that something serious had happened.”

 

Mari, a current Arsenal player, is currently on loan at Monza in Serie A.
