The Grammy-winning musicians came together to work on an updated version of “Die for You,” taken from The Weeknd’s 2016 album Starboy, over two years after their previous collaboration on the “Save Your Tears” remix. This Thursday, Grande shared a small preview of her verse from the remix on TikTok.

“Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set,” wrote Grande, who’s currently shooting the film adaptation of Wicked. “This certain exception had to be made…”

The Weeknd’s appearance on Ariana Grande’s song “Love Me Harder,” taken from her second album My Everything, was their first collaboration in 2014. Around six years later, they rejoined on Grande’s “Off the Table,” a notable track from her Positions album.

The song is released the day before HBO and HBO Max air The Weeknd’s concert special Live at Sofi Stadium. The 95-minute production, which Micah Bickham directed, was recorded while The Weeknd was on his 2022 After Hours Til Dawn Tour. You can view it on February 25.
