Antonio Conte to Manchester United: The Italian is ‘open’ to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford

Antonio Conte is allegedly open to taking over as Manchester United manager from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Manchester Evening News [MEN] reports that Conte would like guarantees from United before taking the position.

Following United’s devastating 5-0 loss at home to arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, Solskjaer is under immense pressure.

Thousands of fans departing Old Trafford 25 minutes before the final whistle may have been enough to persuade Manchester United’s board of directors that a managerial change is required.

Since the club icon replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018, the club has been entirely behind Solskjaer, but the manner of Sunday’s defeat was inexcusable.

United’s situation might deteriorate further before the next international break, when they face Tottenham (A), Atalanta (A), and Manchester City (H).
