Ansu Fati signs a six-year contract with Barcelona that includes a $1 billion buyout clause

Ansu Fati, a young forward for Barcelona, has agreed to a contract extension that contains a 1 billion euro (£846 million) buyout clause.

The 18-year-old, who is wearing Lionel Messi’s former number 10 shirt at the Nou Camp this season, scored the only goal in Barcelona’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday night.

His new contract runs through 2027.

Following Pedri, Fati is the second Barcelona player to sign a new contract with a 1 billion euro buyout clause in the last week.

The Guinea-Bissau-born attacker, who has four senior caps for Spain, has been with Barcelona since he was ten years old and scored last month after returning from a knee injury that kept him out for ten months.

Fati has made 47 appearances in the first team for the club, scoring 15 goals.

He made his Barca debut at the age of 16 years and 298 days, making him the club’s second-youngest player. He is also the league’s youngest scorer.
