Angel Di Maria breaks down in tears in final PSG game

Angel Di Maria scored a farewell goal in his final game for Paris Saint-Germain, and he left the ground in tears after receiving a standing ovation.

The 34-year-old scored in Saturday’s 5-0 triumph against Metz to earn his sixth Ligue 1 title.

Di Maria will leave Parc des Princes as a free agent after Les Parisiens decided against extending his contract for another year.

The Argentine winger is expected to sign a contract with Juventus that will last until 2023, with the option to extend it.

But after the game the one-time Manchester United flop laughed off claims the deal was done, saying: “Juventus deal? No, no – I’m quiet, there’s time, I have to think… it’s not just my decision.

“I’ve always thought of myself and my family. I’ll make the best choice for everyone – my two daughters, my wife and me”.

Di Maria ended his PSG career on a high note, netting the fifth goal in PSG’s rout of Metz.

After slotting home his 92nd goal in his 295th and last game since returning from United in 2015, he was mobbed by his thrilled teammates.

In the 75th minute, the former Real Madrid forward was substituted, and the home crowd rose to their feet to offer him a standing ovation.

His teammates then formed a guard of honor around him as he walked off the field, saying their goodbyes one by one.
