Aminata Diallo, a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, has returned after being arrested for an attack on a teammate

Aminata Diallo of Paris St-Germain returned to action on Sunday, two months after being arrested for an attack on teammate Kheira Hamraoui.

In December, French police freed Diallo, 26, without arrest, claiming that an investigation would prove her “complete and total innocence.”

PSG defeated Dijon on penalties in the Coupe de France after the midfielder came in after 77 minutes.

Diallo made a “fantastic recovery,” according to head coach Didier Olle-Nicolle.

Hamraoui, who has been back in training and hasn’t played for PSG since the incident on November 4, was left out of the last-16 match.

Due to the French winter break, this was PSG’s first match since December 16th.

After a team meal, Diallo was taking Hamraoui and another unknown teammate home when they were accosted by two masked individuals.

Diallo’s lawyer issued a statement last month criticizing a “completely manufactured idea of a rivalry between her and Mrs Kheira Hamraoui that would explain why she would attack her team-mate.”

“This theory does not reflect at all the reality of their relationship.” it continued.

Diallo, a seven-time France international, joined PSG in 2016 and has appeared in over 60 games for the club. Last season, she was on loan at Atletico Madrid.
