Amazon are interested in buying media company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in a deal worth a reported $9 million [€7.38 million].
Variety reports via Hypebeast that industry insiders told the publication that Amazon are exploring options in expanding their entertainment portfolio with interest in purchasing MGM.
Between 2019 to 2020, Amazon increased their budget on TV shows, movies and music by 40% as one of the company’s most popular sectors.
There are already 200 million Prime members who, if this deal goes through, they would be able to watch TV/film franchises like Rocky, James Bond, The Hobbit, American Gladiators, Stargate, Survivor, The Voice, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on the platform.
