A total of 1,000 pairs of Yeezy sneakers worth $250,000 were stolen in Oregon

Authorities arrested a guy on Saturday after finding over 1,000 pairs of stolen Yeezy sneakers in the back of his U-Haul vehicle.

The Portland, Oregon Police Bureau arrested Rupert Cross, 26, on felony counts of aggravated theft and possession of a stolen car, according to local station KOIN. Authorities say the Kanye West sneakers were packed to the brim in the U-Haul, and they believe they were taken earlier that night.

“Last night, a Uhaul containing 1,100 pairs of new Adidas “Yeezy” shoes was stolen,” the Portland Police Bureau tweeted out Sunday. “Dayshift officers located the uhaul, arrested 26 YO Rupert Crosse, and recovered the shoes which are estimated to be worth over $250,000. Great work North Dayshift!”

Yeezy sneakers, which were first released in 2015, have commanded a high price tag, with Sneaker News noting that a pair may cost anywhere from $200 to $585 depending on the model, implying that they can be sold for even greater amounts on the secondary market, with some selling for $1,500.
