NortonLifeLock has revealed that its Norton 360 Antivirus program will have a built-in crypto-mining tool titled Norton Crypto.
The new feature will allow selected participants to tap into their devices’ GPUs which will in turn, mine Ethereum that can be used in wallet cloud storage.
Norton will also help users who may fear that they don’t have enough computing power to merge their efforts collectively and subsequently share the block out into individual earnings.
As quoted by Hypebeast via Engadget, NortonLifeLock’s chief product officer, Gagan Singh, explained more about the company’s interest in the crypto craze, “We are proud to be the first consumer Cyber Safety company to offer coin miners the ability to safely and easily turn the idle time on their PCs into an opportunity to earn digital currency.
“With Norton Crypto, our customers can mine for cryptocurrency with just a few clicks, avoiding many barriers to entry in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.”
Norton has announced that the full feature will be available to all of its users in the coming weeks.
