Not for the first time, YouTube and Coachella are collaborating for a livestream of the popular festival in its return for April 2022.
While details of the schedule and selected gigs were not revealed due to an absence of a lineup, those who are unable to attend the event in-person will still be able to watch performances from the two weekends on YouTube.
In the last edition of Coachella in 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic, YouTube selected 34 acts from Billie Eilish, Blood Orange, Childish Gambino, Mac DeMarco, Pusha T, the 1975, Weezer, Wiz Khalifa and YG. These were shared across different channels as YouTube also became the festival’s official playlist partner. This saw limited tickets being sold to U.S subscribers exclusively on YouTube Music and YouTube Premium.
There is no confirmation as to whether Frank Ocean, Travis Scott and Rage against the Machine, who were all scheduled to play at Coachella in 2020, will return for next year’s event.
