Thierry Henry will be returning to London but not for a career change as the Arsenal legend has left his post as CF Montreal head coach due to family reasons.
After 15 months with the MLS side, the 43-year-old was unwilling to leave his family behind in Canada as Montreal were forced to relocate to the United States due to COVID-19.

Henry, who had recently been linked with to become AFC Bournemouth’s manager before Jonathan Woodgate’s permanent appointment, took charge of Montreal in November 2019, guiding the club to the MLS play-offs for the first time in four years as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions League.

As quoted by Sky Sports, Olivier Renard, CF Montreal’s sporting director, said: “Thierry’s departure is unfortunate and premature because this was very promising, but he informed me of his desire to be back with his family because the situation was and remains very difficult for both him and his family.
“I want to thank him, first on a human level because he led the players by example last year by being away from his family, but also from a sporting level and for what we have built together since his arrival.”
