When a car drove into the cafe where two men from Houston, Texas were recording their podcast, they barely escaped injury.
According to KTRK, Nathan Reeves and Alexsey Reyes had met up to record a podcast episode inside the Tout Suite cafe when they caught a glimpse of an SUV swerving into the structure. “We were just talking to the camera, and the car smashes into our backs. I go into instant shock. I’m not sure what’s going on,” said Reyes, who was a guest on Reeves’ podcast, November Romeo. “It was kind of fight or flight, and I flew, I got out of there,” added Reeves, who has been friends with Reyes for around a year.
Despite the car almost hitting them at the table they were recording at, the two barely suffered minor injuries. The two merely discreetly got up from their chairs, clearly uneasy by the situation. Later, they returned to the camera to say they were fine.
“I was freaking out, I turned to everyone in the café, and I’m like, ‘I got that all on film’. Everyone got a front-row seat, there was no one at the table with us, and they all saw what happened,” Reeves said. “We’re content creators and artists, so we will not stop. There will be more. Hopefully, no more car crashes, just content.”
According to The Associated Press, police have confirmed that the SUV’s two passengers’ driver ran a red light and collided with another car. She then made a U-turn and crashed into the cafe, which was hosting about 12 customers at the time.
