Emiliano Martinez shows off new tattoo in iconic spot after World Cup final

After Argentina’s World Cup victory, Emiliano Martinez showcased a brand-new tattoo.

The 30-year-old, who plays for Aston Villa, was crucial to his nation’s World Cup victory in Qatar.

In fact, it’s not a stretch to say that if it weren’t for their goalie, Lionel Messi and the rest of Argentina’s teammates likely wouldn’t have won the World Cup on December 18.

Against France, Martinez made what is possibly the most significant save in Argentina’s history in the final seconds of extra time.

After going one-on-one with Martinez, Randal Kolo Muani appeared to be about to score, but the Argentine goalie’s extended left leg stopped the French striker.

Martinez received a new tattoo in the exact same place where he stopped Kolo Muani’s late attempt to commemorate Argentina’s first World Cup victory since 1986.

The tattoo of the World Cup trophy features three stars, each representing the years Argentina have won the trophy, along with the words: “Que la pasión te lleve a la gloria” – which translates to “May passion lead you to glory” in English.
