Rodrygo, a forward for Brazil, has adopted the unusual tactic of rubbing Ronaldo’s legs for good luck.

The Real Madrid forward participated in an interview with one of the best players in history after helping Brazil defeat Switzerland 1-0 in the World Cup.

After just two games, Rodrygo played 45 minutes as a substitute in a match that advanced favourites O Selecao to the Round of 16.

And at the end of the chat, Rodrygo was told: “We’re still rooting for you,” by the two-time winner and before standing up he rubbed Ronaldo’s legs before his own.

“I’ll take a little bit from here,” the 21-year-old said, suggesting he was trying to transfer some of Ronaldo’s goalscoring magic over to his own legs.

Ronaldo, the last player to lead Brazil to World Cup victory, laughed a lot at the joke.

The former player for Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid gave one of the most illustrious World Cup performances in 2002 in Japan and South Korea, scoring eight goals, including a brace in a 2-0 victory over Germany in the championship game.

Since that time, only European teams have won the World Cup, but there is still much of optimism that the favorites, Brazil, might break that trend and add to their already-record-setting five victories.
