Former Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa has discussed the open manager position at Bournemouth.
Scott Parker, who was sacked after just four games this season, will likely be replaced on a permanent basis by Bielsa, 67.
Since August, Gary O’Neil has been filling in on an interim basis.
The Cherries were six games without a loss before losing their last four Premier League games, dropping them to only a point and a spot above the drop zone.
Although Bielsa would be a spectacular choice for a club about to inaugurate a new era once Bill Foley’s acquisition is approved, O’Neil might yet land the position.
Even though the club was in a downward spiral when he was fired in February, the Argentine is still held in high regard by Leeds supporters for the work he accomplished at Elland Road.
After a 16-year absence, Leeds returned to the Premier League under his leadership in 2018, placing ninth in their first season.
Before Bielsa took over, Leeds had placed in the middle of the pack in the Championship six of the previous seven times.
Biela managed in France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, and Chile for four years from 2007 and 2011 before heading to the Premier League.
Early in the World Cup break is when Bournemouth is anticipated to decide.
