The internet mogul wants to raise the price of the new Twitter Blue subscription from its current $4.99 per month to $19.99 per month, according to The Verge. And according to the outlet’s sources, Twitter verification will be one of the advantages of the new subscription package. Users who have already been verified must subscribe within 90 days of the implementation of the new plan in order to maintain their blue checkmark.
The deadline Musk allegedly set may be more startling than the new subscription model. According to The Verge, Musk has given staff members until November 7 to implement the new strategy. They will be sacked if they don’t achieve that deadline.
Although the shift may surprise some, Musk has already intimated that he might make it.
“The whole verification process is being revamped right now,” Musk tweeted just days after acquiring Twitter.
