Mason Greenwood of Manchester United has been released on bail following charges of attempted rape.
Additionally, the 21-year-old was accused of assault and regularly using coercive behaviour.
Accusations including pictures and videos that appeared online led to his arrest in January.
Following a closed-door hearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, the football player, who is from Bowdon in Greater Manchester, will be let go.
Following his Monday appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court, he had been remanded in custody.
A court spokeswoman stated that bail had been granted, with the terms that the defendant was required to reside at a Bowdon location and not contact any witnesses, including the complainant.
Mr. Greenwood was absent from the short hearing.
He had been out on bail since January, but on Saturday he was detained again in Trafford for allegedly breaking the terms.
The same woman is involved in all three charges.
The attempted rape allegedly occurred in October 2021.
