BTS Taking Hiatus Until 2025 To Complete Military Service

It has now been about a week since it was revealed that the members of the K-pop supergroup BTS will probably enlist in the South Korean military. The seven-member K-pop group will fulfill the required military service, according to HYBE, formerly Big Hit Music, the label in charge of managing the brand.

After months of rumors and back-and-forth between the band and the South Korean authorities, the development finally materialized. The oldest member of BTS, Jin, will reportedly be the first to enlist, with the other members following as and when they are asked.

“BigHit Music is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. After the phenomenal concert to support Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030, and as each individual embarks on solo endeavours, it’s a perfect time and the members of BTS are honoured to serve,” read the official statement from Big Hit Music.

According to the official release, other members will perform military service in accordance with their personal plans. According to the statement, the band is eager to reunite in 2025 after completing their service obligation. “Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans. Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment,” read the press statement.
