Nicki Minaj Releases “Super Freaky Girl” Video

Soon after “Super Freaky Girl” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Nicki Minaj released the colorful music video.

The “Super Freaky Girl” video features Nicki and her “Ken,” Alexander Ludwig, who is most known for his part in Vikings. It is appropriately animated and seductive. Although the video isn’t as as graphic as the song’s lyrics, it is certainly not subtle in some of its more suggestive scenes.

The Rick James-sampling song’s music video, which was directed by Joseph Kahn, was released shortly after Nicki accepted the Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. Along with a number of older fan favorites, she also performed a medley of some of her biggest hits at the concert, including “Super Freaky Girl” and her well-known “Monster” verse.

“I wish Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson were still here. I wish that people understood what they meant and what they were going through,” Minaj said when accepting the Video Vanguard Award. “I wish people took mental health seriously, even for the people who we think have perfect lives. I wish Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD and Nipsey Hussle were here.”
