Johnny Depp appears to be referring to his ex-wife on his new collaboration album with Jeff Beck, just over a month after a jury found in his favor in his defamation case against Amber Heard.
The 13-track album 18 is scheduled to be released this Friday, and according to a review in the Sunday Times, it contains a song in which Depp seems to refer to Heard as a “dog.”
“You’re sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch,” he sings on “Sad Motherfuckin’ Parade.” “If I had a dime, it wouldn’t reach your hand.”
The information was released shortly after Depp’s attorneys responded in a statement to Heard’s legal team’s attempt to have Depp’s $10.35 million defamation verdict dismissed on the basis that there was insufficient evidence to support it.
Depp’s attorneys requested that the Virginia court “reject Ms. Heard’s baseless contention” in a court document on Monday.
“Following a six-week jury trial, a jury of Ms. Heard’s peers rendered a verdict against her in virtually all respects,” the memorandum states. “Though understandably displeased with the outcome of trial, Ms. Heard has identified no legitimate basis to set aside in any respect the jury’s decision.”
