Mohamed Salah signs new three-year Liverpool contract

Mohamed Salah, a top player for Liverpool and Egypt, has extended his deal, putting an end to rumors that he would leave the Reds for free in the upcoming season.

“Liverpool FC are delighted to announce Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract with the club,” Liverpool said in a statement on Friday.

Salah became an essential member of the Reds in 2017 after moving from Roma to the English Premier League team. His astounding 156 goals in 254 games helped the Reds win the league.

In 2017 and 2022, Salah twice brought home the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year title.

In 2020, he led the Reds to their first league championship in three decades.

With the Reds, the 30-year-old forward also won the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Champions League, and FA Cup.

On his contract extension, Salah said: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.”

“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next,” he added.
