The Bronx rapper collaborated with Lil Durk and Kanye West on “Hot Shit,” her first song to be released since “Up” in 2021. This week, Cardi shared on social media that she has been sitting on the collaborative song for around three years.
“I think this record is actually older than ‘WAP,’” she said on Twitter Spaces. “It is everyone’s favorite.”
Shortly later, Cardi admitted on Instagram Live that she had been hesitant to release the tune because it lacked an official video. She nevertheless made the decision to release the song since she was sure her fans would like it.
In a January interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Kanye hinted at his upcoming Cardi collaboration. Ye mentioned to Jason Lee that he had just finished recording a verse for the “WAP” rapper, but he withheld any further information.
