Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has told former Paris Saint-Germain teammate and Brazilian national team colleague Neymar to join him at Stamford Bridge this summer having been linked with a summer move.
Thomas Tuchel has been strongly associated with a reunion with the attacker he managed at the Parc des Princes, and Neymar has been highly linked with a departure from PSG in the next months that would bring an end to his five-year stay in the French capital.
Due to their combined 138 appearances for PSG, Brazil’s national team, and the Brazilian Olympic squad, Thiago Silva is familiar with the 30-year-old player.
In response to a question regarding his old teammate’s potential transfer to Chelsea, the seasoned Chelsea defender pushed Neymar to relocate to London and join him in the Premier League while speaking at an event in Recife, Brazil.
“He has to go to Chelsea,” Silva told JC (as published by Sport Witness ). “If it happens, it will be for the best. He needs no comments. So far, I don’t know anything, but I hope it comes to fruition.”
This summer, Chelsea has been widely connected with the addition of a number of new forwards, with Neymar one of the names mentioned with regard to Tuchel’s team.
