A new teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has been released ahead of Monday’s ticket sale. Although the sneak peek from Marvel is brief, it has several brief glimpses of scenes and other material that hasn’t yet been made public. There is a ton of action, as well as a more intense, up-close look at what makes Gorr, the God-Butcher (played by Christian Bale), such a menace. Jane Foster also has her own heroic landing scene.
Thor: Love and Thunder looks like it could push the limits in more ways than one with the promise of more incredible combat sequences and award-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi at the helm (after his highly praised contribution to the Marvel franchise, Thor: Ragnarok). Whether Chris Hemsworth’s ass will be uncensored in the movie’s final edit is still to be determined. The idea of a heartbreaking romance between the Odinson and (the other) Thor is also hinted at, as well as a women’s team-up and some fairly ridiculous gladiatorial contests.
Notably, Thor is the only Marvel character to have a fourth independent movie. While the Avengers as a group had four movies, Captain America (at least nominally) only had the lead role in three of them, while Iron Man released his own trilogy quickly after in the early MCU.
