Barcelona will spend the 2023-24 season at a football stadium in Montjuic after its iconic venue Camp Nou was certified to be renovated.
“In the 2023/24 season, most of the work (at Camp Nou) would be continued all year round, so the team will play at Montjuic,” Barcelona said in a statement on Thursday.
The club claimed that the renovations would be completed during the 2022-23 season so that club members and spectators may continue to attend games as usual.
“In the 2024/25 season, work will continue in the Camp Nou, but games can also be played there, albeit with the capacity reduced by approximately 50%. The work would be completed during the 2025/26 season,” Barca added.
After the 2021-22 football season concludes, work on the stadium will begin in June.
