In a farewell video from Studio, Scrat from Ice Age finally gets its acorn

Scrat, the iconic sabre-toothed squirrel, finally gets his acorn, thanks to the creative animators behind the Ice Age movie.

Blue Sky Studios, the company behind the Ice Age franchise, was shuttered after Disney finalized its acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Disney is still in the Ice Age business, but since the franchise’s original studio is no longer in operation, the animators at Blue Sky recently teamed together to bid the company farewell on their own terms.

Scrat is particularly preoccupied with obtaining an acorn in prior Ice Age flicks. In fact, he devoted five full films to achieving that basic aim. The Blue Sky Studio has finally granted Scrat’s demand as their final deed. The final animation, which has gone popular on social media, shows the rat finally savoring his acorn before going on to the next adventure.

Blue Sky Studios is closing down, which is a sad occasion for social media users. As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the animation studio was forced to close last year. Sharing the clip on YouTube on Wednesday, Blue Sky said, “In the final days of Blue Sky Studios, a small team of artists came together to do one final shot. This shot is a farewell, a send-off on our own terms.”

In the meantime, the sabre-toothed squirrel is off on a new journey. Ice Age: Scrat Tales was published on Disney+ on Wednesday. Scrat is the father of the lovely but naughty Baby Scrat in the series. The two form a connection and compete for control of the prized acorn.
