In her much-anticipated comeback to professional wrestling, Ronda Rousey came out on top.
The former UFC champion won the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match, which took place at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis on Saturday night. At No. 28, Rousey was one among the final contestants in the 30-women showdown, which she won by defeating Charlotte Flair.
The “Baddest Woman on the Planet” will face either Raw Women’s title Becky Lynch or SmackDown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38.
Rousey made her first WWE appearance in over three years during this year’s Royal Rumble. The 34-year-old announced her retirement from wrestling in 2020 to spend more time with her family. Fast forward to September of last year, when she and her husband, Travis Brown, welcomed their daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipo, into the world.
After the first-ever women’s Rumble contest in 2018, Rousey made her WWE debut at WrestleMania 34, fighting Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a tag-team bout.
On January 31, Rousey will return to Raw.
