Wolves have turned down a £15 million proposal from Tottenham for Adama Traore

Tottenham’s £15 million bid for winger Adama Traore was rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is interested in the 25-year-old Spaniard, who has 18 months left on his Molineux contract.

Bruno Lage, the manager of Wolves, is well aware that he must sell before bringing in new players this month.

On January 15, Traore scored his first goal of the season as Wolves defeated Southampton 3-1.

Traore joined Wolves from Middlesbrough in August 2018 for £18 million.

Bruno Lage has expressed his desire to keep Traore this window, despite the winger having only 18 months left on his deal and talks over a new contract have not progressed. So far, Spurs are yet to match Wolves’ valuation of Traore which is reported to be £20million, but Wolves may be forced to cash in if they cannot tie him down to a new contract.

Conte feels Traore can play in a wing-back role, similar to how he used to work with Chelsea forward Victor Moses.
