The Best FIFA Awards 2021: Lewandowski wins the Best Men’s Player title over Messi and Salah

For the second year in a row, Robert Lewandowski has received the FIFA Men’s Player Award, defeating Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah.

On Monday, Robert Lewandowski was named The Best FIFA Men’s Award for 2021, earning the honor for the second year in a row.

The Bayern Munich attacker triumphed against Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah to win the title.

Alexia Putellas, who previously won the Ballon d’Or, was named The Best FIFA Women’s Player, while Edouard Mendy, Thomas Tuchel, and Erik Lamela were among the others honored.

For the second year in a row, Lewandowski has been named the top player in the men’s game.

With the German giants, Lewandowski won the FIFA Club World Cup in early 2021, followed by another Bundesliga championship. He also played a key role in his country’s World Cup qualifying campaign, scoring eight goals in eight games.

Meanwhile, Putellas has been named the winner of the FIFA Women’s Player of the Year award for her achievements with Barcelona.

Putellas won the Ballon d’Or late last year, and he now has a full set of awards after earning another one in Zurich on Monday.

In 2021, the 27-year-old was instrumental in Barcelona’s Primera Division, Copa de la Reina, and Champions League triumphs.

Mendy wins the Best FIFA Goalkeeper Award over Donnarumma and Neuer.

Mendy, the Chelsea goalkeeper, was named the best goalie in the men’s game.

Lamela wins the Puskas Award.

Erik Lamela, a former Tottenham player, won the title for greatest goal of the year for his rabona attempt against Arsenal in the North London Derby in March.

Denmark has been awarded the Fair Play Award.

The Danish national team, as well as its medical and coaching staff, received the Fair Play Award for their actions following Christian Eriksen’s heart arrest during their Euro 2020 encounter.

The offensive midfielder fell during the match against Finland, and his teammates’ rapid reactions, as well as the medical team’s efforts to save his life, earned them accolades from football fans all around the globe.

Because of their acts in the aftermath of the horrific occurrence, the fans of Denmark and Finland were also named winners of the FIFA Fan Award.

Chelsea’s coaches have won both coaching honors.

Tuchel received the prize for Best FIFA Men’s Coach. Last year, the German manager took over as Chelsea manager and led the club to the Champions League title in 2021.

In addition to defeating Pep Guardiola’s squad in the final, he won the prize ahead of Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, with Euro 2020 winning manager Roberto Mancini also nominated.
