Pele, the legendary Brazilian footballer, is undergoing treatment for a colon tumor at the hospital.
In September, the three-time World Cup winner underwent surgery to remove a colon tumor, with the hospital stating that he will need chemotherapy as well.
The Hospital of Sao Paulo is a public institution in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo The 81-year-old is in stable condition, according to Albert Einstein, and will be released in the coming days.
Pele’s therapy, according to the hospital, is currently “continuing.”
After being released from the hospital in September, Pele stated on Twitter last month that he was “fine” and “feeling better every day.”
He had been receiving treatment at the hospital since the tumor was discovered during regular examinations on August 31.
In recent years, his health has become a source of worry. After being sent to the hospital for the second time in six months in 2015, he had prostate surgery, and he was hospitalized again in 2019 for a urinary infection.
With 77 goals in 92 appearances, Pele is Brazil’s all-time top scorer and one of just four players to score in four World Cup competitions.
