Pong Could Prove We’re Living In A Simulation, According to Elon Musk

Elon Musk has provided a frightening glimpse into whether we are living in a computer simulation.

Pong’s 49th birthday was recently disclosed in a nostalgic social media post, and the tech millionaire remarked on it.

On November 29, 1972, Atari published the legendary video game, which went on to become the first commercially successful game in history.

There’s no doubting that a lot has changed since then, and the Tesla founder believes that this might indicate that the world isn’t real.

“49 years later, games are photo-realistic 3D worlds. What does that trend continuing imply about our reality?” he said.

The only solution, according to the original poster of the tweet, is that we’re living in a simulation.

Musk has long been a proponent of the simulation idea, estimating that the chances of us living in ‘base reality,’ or the original world in which we believe we live, are one in a billion.

Consider base reality to be the world that Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves) lived in before being offered the chance to go down the rabbit hole and become Neo in The Matrix.

While we’d all want to believe that we’re living in the actual world, Musk isn’t so sure.
