$22.5 million Miami Beach Penthouse Purchased Via Cryptocurrency

An astonishing $22.5 million [€18.47 million] has been spent on a Miami Beach penthouse with cryptocurrency as the most expensive digital currency-based real estate purchase ever made.

The 5,067 square-foot penthouse was designed by Italian architect Antonio Citterio at the Arte Surfside, which is located on the ninth floor of the 12-story complex. The property itself includes four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Arte hasn’t revealed the name of the buyer and it’s unknown as to what type of crypto was used in the transaction. However, according to Business Insider via M18 Public Relations, the building’s developers insist that we’re at the start of a radical shift in the real estate market where crypto payments are being accepted.
