After rumors circulated this morning of the cancellation of the rest of the “Saint Pablo Tour”, a representative for Kanye West has confirmed to Pitchfork that all future dates have now been scrapped. #RIP Saint Pablo Tour.
Kanye West has not really had what we would consider a ‘good week.’ The rapper received some serious criticism after the Thursday night of his “Saint Pablo Tour” was punctuated by a lengthy rant on his admiration for Donald Trump, leading to a massive walk-out. This was shortly followed by an even more disastrous rant on Saturday that caused him to cut the show short after only four songs. Oh and that free show he was going to do last night? Yeah…that got cancelled.
Initially created to make up for the November 4 show in Inglewood, California, that he was forced to drop after losing his voice, Kanye had made grand plans for last night’s show to be an apology to all the fans left in the lurch. He also sent out free tickets to local high school students enrolled in music programs. But after his stunt on Saturday, which has led to widespread media backlash, everything has been scrapped. Fans who did not receive a refund for the initial November 4 date are now getting reimbursed, but it’s ‘sorry, no banana’ for all the poor school kids who got free tickets.
There are also rumors flying at the moment that all future stops of the “Saint Pablo Tour” are now in jeopardy. Whether that comes to pass remains to be seen, but it seems that no matter what Kanye does, he is in need of some serious downtime.
